IAN WETAAKA. PRIMARY THREE AGED 9 YEARS.
Ian’s mother died during childbirth when she was still very young, and his father’s whereabouts have never been known. He was initially cared for by an aunt who struggled to provide for him. At the age of seven, he was taken to live with his elderly grandfather, who had only recently learned of his existence. Despite living in poverty and poor health, his grandfather does his best to care for him

NABAKOOZA JOVIA PRIMARY SEVEN AGED 13.
Jovia lives with her mother and three siblings. Following the death of her father, her mother has raised the family alone while facing significant financial challenges. Jovia is a hardworking, respectful and well-disciplined student who is committed to her education.

IRASUBIZA KEDDY PRIMARY FIVE AGED 16 AND BARAKA ISRAEL PRIMARY ONE AGED 9.
Keddy and Baraka are siblings who fled Rwanda after the loss of their father left them vulnerable and struggling to survive. They were found selling vegetables to support themselves and were brought to safety through the support of Pastor Geoffrey. Both boys are bright students with great potential.

MUKISA VIANNE PRIMARY TWO AGED 8 AND NAKIMULI JANE LETICIA PRIMARY ONE AGED 7.
After being abandoned by their father, Vianne and Jane were raised by their mother alone. Unable to secure stable employment, she survives by collecting bottles for recycling and washing clothes for others. Despite her struggles, she works tirelessly to provide for her daughters.

OJANGOLE IMRAN PRIMARY THREE AGED 7.
Imran was abandoned by his father at a very young age. His mother survives through subsistence farming in a rural village and is unable to provide the support he needs. The school now provides full care and educational support for him.

WAKISA ELIZABETH PRIMARY FOUR AGED 10.
Elizabeth wanted to study but there was no way and no hope at all, singing joyfully in the Sunday school she was identified during a church outreach program and brought into the care of the school. She is a bright, cheerful child who loves learning and has a strong faith.

NALUBEGA SHANITA PRIMARY SIX AGED 12.
After the sudden death of her mother, Shanita was placed in the care of relatives who struggle to provide for her and her sibling. Her father has abandoned the family. Despite these difficulties, Shanita remains dedicated to her studies and dreams of a better future.

ABAHO PATIENCE PRIMARY SIX AGED 13.
Patience lost both parents and is cared for by her elderly grandmother, who survives by collecting and selling firewood. During school holidays, Patience helps her aunt with a market stall to earn money for school supplies. She is known for being kind, respectful and eager to learn.

KALYANGO PAUL PRIMARY SIX AGED 12.
Paul’s parents were unable to continue supporting his education due to extreme poverty. Recognizing his intelligence and potential, the school welcomed him and provided him with the opportunity to continue learning. He is a bright student with a promising future

MUKISA KYALIBONAH TOP CLASS NURSERY AGED 6 YEARS.
After the death of his mother, Kyalibonah was left in the care of his elderly grandmother. Despite her own struggles and poor health, she does everything she can to look after him. The family faces significant financial hardship and relies on support from others.

WESONGA JIMMY PRIMARY SEVEN AGED 15 AND MUKITE BLESSING PRIMARY SIX AGED 11
Jimmy and Blessing live with their mother, who works tirelessly to support them. After suffering serious illness while working abroad, she returned home with little means of supporting her family. She now sells tea by the roadside to provide for her children. Despite many setbacks, she continues to fight for their future.

OTIENO JEREMIAH PRIMARY SIX AGED 13.
Jeremiah comes from a very poor family. While living in a village, he suffered severe abuse and neglect, leaving physical scars that remain today. Despite these experiences, he is an intelligent and determined young boy who now lives safely at school and is thriving in his studies.

KIZITO DEOGRACOUS PRIMARY THREE AGED 12, NAAVA ANGEL PRIMARY TWO AGED 07 MAYOMBO GOODLUCK PRIMARY TWO AGED 08.
These three children are cared for by their elderly grandmother after losing their parents. Due to her age and poor health, she struggles to provide even the necessities. The family often relies on the generosity of others for food and support, and there are times when they go hungry.

AKOT FAVOUR
Favour joined the school this year after her grandparents became overwhelmed by the responsibility of caring for her. They had moved her from one school to another because they could not manage the fees, until they shared her situation with Pastor Geoffrey, who chose to help. Her father died after receiving treatment, and her mother was living with serious mental health difficulties. Before fully recovering, her mother left Favour at her grandparents’ home with a note bearing her name, then disappeared. Three years later, the family learned that her mother had died in a road accident, a loss that deeply affected them. Favour is now in Primary One, and the school supports all her educational needs.

NALUBWAMA JEMIMAH
Jemimah has grown up without knowing either of her parents. Her mother became pregnant in difficult circumstances and later died from HIV/AIDS. After learning of her illness, she experienced deep emotional distress during the pregnancy. After Jemimah was born, her mother left her in the care of Mummy Florence at the church and sadly passed away later. When Jemimah was four, her father also passed away from the same illness. She is now in Primary Four and is lovingly supported by the school.

SSEBIRAGALA STEVEN
Steven is a 16-year-old Primary Six pupil whose parents’ whereabouts are unknown. He is fully supported by the school and remains there even during holidays. The school learned about him through his uncle, who shared that Steven had left school and was working in a garage in Kibuye to help meet his basic needs. In 2022, Pastor Geoffrey gave him a bursary so he could return to school, beginning again in Primary Two. He is now in Primary Six, stays at school during most holidays, and visits his uncle in December. Steven is a disciplined boy who works hard and strives to do his best.
